Single Umbilical Artery (SUA)

This past Wednesday, Mark and I found out we are having a little boy. We're quite excited and have already been looking at baseball stuff for his room. He is right on track with his growth and was quite the active one during the ultrasound. To see pictures and a video, visit our family blog HERE!

The ultrasound revealed that it's possible that Eli only has 1 artery and 1 vein in his umbilical cord - a condition known as Single Umbilical Artery (SUA). Most babies have 2 arteries and 1 vein. To find out more about SUA you can visit our website by the link above, the March of Dimes website here or Wilikpedia at this link.

While this is anxiety-provoking to say the least, we trust that God is in control and will lead us through it all. Your prayers are much appreciated.
